GIVEAWAY TIME!

I have been completely overwhelmed by the number of notes I got on my baby zillyhoo a few weeks ago. It’s probably the most feedback I’ve ever had on a single thing that I have made with my own two hands, and it completely blew me away. I want to thank you guys for your support. You are all awesome : )

This is a revamp of the baby zillyhoo as a charm. It is the same size as the original, and it comes complete with a 23” silver plated chain (pictured), which clasps at the end.

Additionally, there will be a secret BONUS PRIZE to be disclosed later if you follow RULE #4.

DA’ RULES TO ENTER:

  1. You may REBLOG THIS POST ONCE to enter. We don’t need to clog anyone’s dash with this.
  2. You may like this post to enter.
  3. You do not have to follow me, but if you’d like to check me out I will be doing a lot more stuff like this in the future. : )
  4. If you would like to win a secret bonus prize, include a poem about the Zillyhoo in your reblog. It can be in whatever form you like; haiku, Italian sonnet, free form, limerick, etc. All poems will be judged for their creativity and awesomeness by an assembled panel of English Majors, and the winner will have their poem reblogged and receive a prize yet to be disclosed. This was just an idea some people and I had to make the giveaway a little more interactive, so please have fun with it! I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with : D

If by terrible chance you don’t win, but would still like something like this or anything else, you can always contact me about commissions. O:

The Sonnet of Zillyhoo, or “Behold the glory of its pow’rful might”

Behold the glory of its pow’rful might
The great and awesome Zillyhoo of lore
Who from the distant city of midnight
Brings tears to those who had not wept before

The grandeur of its multicolored head
Is but a harbringer of peerless weight
All foes under its swing are smoten dead
And all who challenge it will meet their fate

Of course, before you leave, admit the truth:
You saw this thing at first in Problem Sleuth.

A Summer Reading List

Hey guys, so remember when I posted a list of all the books I read this summer?

Well I decided it’d be an awesome idea to write reviews for each one! AND, to make it that much more rad for you, I posted them in three easy digestible bits on my writing blog.

Check it out!!

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

If I Could Write a Jazz Etude

If I could write a jazz etude
And play it Kind of Blue,
I’d spend A Night in Tunisia
With Plenty of Money and You.

Van Morrison would sing a song
As we would go Moon Dance,
And Django would play Nuages
When we arrive in France

We’d spend our April in Paris,
We’d Stomp at the Savoy,
We’d walk like Basie – Straight Ahead
In Autumn Leaves of joy.

We’d see the American Patrol
When we finally come home.
You’d show your Bossa Nova Soul,
But In a Mellow Tone

You’re the Girl from Ipanema,
My Funny Valentine.
I’m a Boogie Bugle Boy
who wants you to be mine.

I’d say that I am In the Mood
to Sing, Sing, Sing some more,
but I can’t write a jazz etude.
You’ve heard it all before.
