The Troubles of a Legitimate Businessman: a Problem Sleuth Fanfic

So, uh, I wrote this fanfic.  And since I can’t make myself write the short story I’m working on, I decided I should post this!

It’s, uh. Hoo. This might sound silly, but I guess it’s a slight reinterpretation of Problem Sleuth meeting Spades Slick.  I decided that since this was already kind of different, I might as well make the names somewhat different.  Problem Sleuth is named Patrick Sloan, and Slick is publicly known as Jose Vantas, but also has the nicknames of Jack Noir and Spades Slick and well I’m talking too much. I don’t know how to do these introduction things. Would you like to read it?

Intense profanity throughout, so, I mean… if that’s not your thing, I can’t help you here.

Thank you

for making

Slick

smart.

Often times people forget he was a bureaucrat (albeit a bad one) and portray him as illiterate and utterly senseless and it bothers me because yes, Droog is obviously the brains, but Slick has to be a little clever himself underneath all those f-bombs and stabs to have gotten by.

God that sentence was long.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! And you’re welcome!  He might be crude and brash and occasionally a bit of dumbass, but it’s important to remember that every Team Sleuth/Midnight Crew strip had the Midnight Crew either thoroughly thrashing Team Sleuth or Team Sleuth making fools of themselves in the most gloriously hilarious way.  Besides, Slick built this town.  Wasn’t nothin’ but a bunch of dust and rocks before he got here.  He was the leader of the Midnight Crew for a reason, and the combination of being a pencil pusher and a mob boss is not something that comes naturally to a moron.
