Fact 028: Sometime in here, I plan on doing a 20...
It’s one that I made up myself. And I’m really looking forward to it. I just… don’t know when I’m going to do it.

You guys, I have had one of the most amazing days...
On such a beautiful day, walking around the lakefront and downtown Milwaukee is one of the most wonderful things, especially with the right company.  Also, independent bookstores are wonderful, and when they’re two-and-a-half-story tall labyrinths with books stacked everywhere, it’s indescribable. You guys, this was pretty damn amazing.  And I know you haven’t gotten everything...

Fact 027: I really like Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along...
-My favorite song from it is “My Eyes” -I absolutely love the ending and I feel it’s what turns it from a good film into a phenomenal film -The first three weeks of my second year of college was spent watching it almost daily, often with different people, but not always -I wrote my final paper in Writing in the Arts and Humanities on it -A friend of mine has the Bad Horse...

Fact 026: An inordinate amount of my poetry deals...
Those topics are nighttime (especially the moon), music (especially jazz), and love (especially pining).  In fact, I could probably cut love out of that sentence and it would still be true.  And every time I tell myself this, I get a great idea for some poem about some guy walking down the street at night, then I write it, then I really like it, and then I remember that it’s about the same...

Fact 025: These posts are all queued in advance...
I didn’t want to write out all 100 posts at once in a word document, and I knew that even if I did, I might get lazy and not post them.  Having the queue gives me a reminder to work on these when it runs low. Interestingly enough, I don’t actually know how to use the automatic queue feature tumblr provides (I feel like an idiot, but I scheduled it three times a day and then it wanted...

Fact 024: I listen to bombastic music to make...
I listen to folk metal when I do the dishes, I start off a good deal of drives with AC/DC, and nothing improves mowing the lawn like the soundtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

Fact 023: I really really like jazz music.
In fact, from eighth grade to my senior year of high school, Jazz was my life.  I’ve been a member of two different school’s jazz ensembles (UWM Youth Jazz and Pius XI Jazz), I’ve had my own jazz combo (at one point), I’ve written both original jazz compositions and arranged music for jazz ensemble, I guest soloed with my friend’s old indie-folk-rock band for a year...

Fact 022: I kind of suck at video games.
I am the only person I know who finds it challenging to make it to the third level of any Mario game.  I have gotten game over in World 1-1 of the first Super Mario Bros game. However, this impairment doesn’t extend to all video games.  I play Rock Band like a Boss, I’m not bad at turn-based strategy games (though I am far from phenomenal), I do okay in Persona 3 (which is an amazing...

Fact 021: I never had video games growing up.
LET ME CLARIFY, before you throw things at me. I loved video games.  I had a few games for my computer, but I never had a video game system.  This is because my parents wouldn’t let me have one.  They wouldn’t let any of my brothers or sister have one either.  It’s not that they wouldn’t buy it, because even if a friend would lend us one or offer to get one for us for a...

And I feel like that’s all I have to say about that. Christ, 100 facts might be harder than I thought.

Fact 019: I am addicted to collecting DVDs.
As film is one of my favorite modes of literature, and as DVDs are easy to store and not horrifically expensive most times, I absolutely love buying DVDs.  I also love sorting them, rearranging them, putting them in categories, cataloging them, etc. I have about 180 individual discs, and all of them were legitimately purchased or acquired.  I don’t like downloading or pirating movies, a...

Fact 018: I like cover versions of songs that are...
Like CAKE’s version of I Will Survive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UBU7oPW7go Or Willis’ version of Word Up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0lsBdPjUME Or Steve Ouimette’s version of The Devil Went Down to Georgia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89p8ya3ZdnQ And though it’s not a direct cover, special mention goes to Hugo’s version of 99 Problems:...

Fact 017: I have a pathological weakness for cute...
SPECIFICALLY cute girls.  Hot girls, not so much.  Extremely pretty girls, I can handle.  Guys in general, I am fine.  But a really really cute girl could foreseeably get me to do anything she wanted.  This is not fair.

Fact 016: The name HalberdierMinister has a...
My senior year of high school, I made a number of new friends who, until previously, had only been friends of friends.  Among them was a gentleman by the name of Rashad Harris.  He was a very unexplainable student, possessing many qualities unusual for a high school sophomore.  He was tall, thin, and had a somewhat more elderly appearance.  He was African-American, but he spoke far more properly,...
